L2Reverie is a High Five emulator running the unmodified retail client. High Five and nothing after it: no Salvation, and no systems bolted onto a chronicle that was finished without them.
The idea is an old server. The pace, the danger, the weight of dying, the fight that starts over one spawn and lasts a year. What is meant to be different sits underneath: mechanics that are finished rather than approximated, and a game that holds together from the first level to the siege.
It is not open, and there is no date. What is open is what it should be, and the three things below are worth deciding with the people who would play here.
The pace and the danger are the ones people remember. The difference is that what sits behind them works: a skill that says it stuns, stuns, and it does the same thing tomorrow.
Most of the map is somewhere nobody goes. Zones get a reason to exist again, and a reason to be fought over, instead of a whole server farming the same three places.
No item, no service and no donation alters combat. Somebody stronger than you played more than you, or played better.
Clans, sieges and the arguments between them are what a server is for. The systems around them are built to be fought over rather than decorated.
A character reaches level 85 at whatever multiplier the server is given, and that number decides whether the road there is a season or a year. This asks the people who would play here what it should be.
These come from the retail experience table and from what the monsters actually give, rather than from a guess, and two things fall out of it. Levels 76 to 85 are 93 per cent of all the experience in the game and only about 45 per cent of the time, because the monsters up there give hundreds of times more. And the last five levels are the longest stretch by a distance, whichever number wins.
Estimates are for 1 to 85 at around twenty hours a week, killing monsters your own level, with time lost to travelling and dying. Play differently and they move. The order of them does not.
What the server should be is not settled. If you have run one, played one for years, or watched one die of something avoidable, that is worth more than another feature list.
Everything sent here is read and kept, and none of it appears on this page. A public box needs somebody moderating it, and this one has nobody.
Leave an address and it gets exactly one message: the day the server opens. There is no newsletter behind it.
Stored: the address, the language you are reading in, and the date you agreed. Nothing else, and never passed on. Take yourself off at any time from the link in the message.
